Simon is a zero-emission mobility specialist with over 15 years’ experience across renewable energy and transport, including more than a decade in electric and hybrid vehicle technologies.

He has led and supported high-impact projects through major funding bodies, including Advanced Propulsion Centre, Innovate UK, and Horizon Europe, with a strong focus on commercialising zero-emission transport solutions. His experience spans buses, heavy goods vehicles (HGVs), and large-scale charging and refuelling infrastructure.

At Innovate UK Business Connect, he plays a key role in accelerating the UK’s transition to zero emission transport. Simon works with organisations from start-ups to multinationals, providing strategic advisory, technical leadership, and support in securing impactful collaborations and grant funding.

He has been instrumental in delivering flagship programmes such as the Zero Emission Freight Demonstration and the £200 million Zero Emission HGV and Infrastructure Demonstrator (ZEHID), deploying zero emission HGVs at scale alongside national infrastructure. These programmes are generating critical data to de-risk investment, inform policy, and accelerate market adoption.
