Head of Transport Policy, REA

Mark joined the REA as Head of Transport Policy in March 2026, following almost five years at Cross-Pavement and On-Street EV charging innovator Trojan Energy.

Mark’s specialisms are External and Government Affairs, championing a just transition that ensures no-one is left behind, and Marketing in both B2B and B2C sectors relating to the whole EV value chain. 

Mark drove his first EV in 2008 after earlier career experience in electricity market operations and retail.  Having been bitten by the bug he decided on a career shift into the eMobility sector and was asked to lead the then-new EV business at EDF UK from 2012 until prior to their Pod acquisition.  He then joined Transport for London developing the commercial Rapid Charging Hub programme for the TfL property portfolio.  Mark has been a member of several steering/advisory groups in transport and heat electrification and was previously the member-elected chair of RECHARGE UK at the REA and a member of the REA Policy Board.  He has also been a Chair of the Software Technical Advisory Group at the Balancing and Settlement Code company, Elexon.  In addition to his REA role, he currently sits on the Editorial Board at fast-growing media brand Transport + Energy, and occupies number 42 of Greenfleet’s Top 100 Most Influential People in Fleet Decarbonisation for 2026.
