Rik graduated Glasgow University with a degree in Electronics and Electrical Engineering, with Music, and has held product development positions predominantly in automotive electronics, or closely related fields, working for Caterpillar, Pi, JLR, McLaren, Protean Electric and now with the Advance Propulsion Centre. With customer needs being a priority, Rik has focused on Systems and Applications Engineering roles ensuring end users receive the product they need, on both sides of the automotive supply chain - OEM and Tier 1/2. As a leader, Rik has run significant product development teams, with a focus on giving people the freedom and autonomy to deliver in the ways which are most effective to them, while coaching colleagues to achieve their personal goals. Rik recently graduated from Cranfield University with an MBA. 

At the Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC), Rik is the Innovation Delivery Director, responsible for the operational delivery of the business - collaborating with UK government, the automotive industry and academia to accelerate the industrialisation of technologies that support the transition to zero-emission vehicles and towards a net-zero automotive supply chain in the UK, through a mixture of funding and sector expertise.
