Gerard Bree
Warwick University
Gerard Bree is an Assistant Professor in the Battery Materials and Cells research group at WMG in the University of Warwick, where he has worked for 5 years. Gerard’s interest in energy storage grew during his time working in the photovoltaics industry, and in 2018 he received a PhD from the University of Limerick in the application of nanomaterials in next generation photovoltaics and batteries. His current research is focused on the development of a fundamental understanding of current and next-gen Li-ion cell performance-loss mechanisms (working within the Faraday Institution Degradation project). Gerard also engages directly with companies, supporting the UK battery industry to develop and optimise new materials and manufacturing processes.
