Steve Pegg is an automotive engineering leader with over 25 years of experience in vehicle engineering and conceptual design. He has worked for leading global automotive manufacturers such as Ford and Jaguar Land Rover, where he was responsible for the design of the Range Rover Evoque and Land Rover Defender.

Before forming HELIXX with designers Jowyn Wong and Jakub Jodlowksi in 2022, Pegg led a team of engineers on the Elestial manufacturing program for small-service satellites and running various electric and ICE hypercar engineering programs. He also served as Director of Lightweight Vehicles at Arrival.

Whilst heading Faraday Future's Advanced Concepts Team, Pegg travelled Southeast Asia and China for five years to research design solutions for ride-hailing vehicles. He noticed that people in those regions valued transportation as a means of making a living and feeding their families rather than owning cars like in Europe and America.

Pegg began exploring new ways of deploying vehicles to have a positive impact and realised that the key to scaling production was to eliminate outdated manufacturing methods and think differently. He believes that the world needs more small electric vehicles instead of SUVs, and his driving motivation is to meet the manufacturing needs of this emerging vehicle segment by unlocking economies of scale through HELIXX.
