NESO
Rachel Lee is a Whole Energy Insights Manager with ESO, a Chartered Electrical Engineer and Fellow of the Energy Institute. She has been focused on reducing carbon emissions for 30 years, initially working on industrial energy systems, from development and design to operations and maintenance. She has led a demand management task force and the electricity market reliability panel in Australia as well as establishing a renewables support organisation in the UK. Rachel ran her own consulting business for 12 years working across the spectrum of renewables projects from biomass through wind and solar to tidal stream. In 2016 she undertook a PhD exploring the fair transition to electric vehicles and impacts and opportunities for the grid. Prior to joining ESO in 2024, Rachel spent 2½ years leading on heat infrastructure for DESNZ.
