Car is the UK’s biggest autos magazine, and Phil McNamara is its group editor. He positioned Car at the forefront of the electrification and technology change sweeping the autos industry, and in 2022 launched a spin-off channel – the Electric Cars Guide – which has gained a big following in Apple News+. Phil is a big advocate of electric cars, having run a Jaguar iPace, Mercedes EQC, BMW iX and currently an Audi SQ8 e-tron. He’s also a juror whose votes help decide European Car of the Year, won in 2024 by Renault’s new Scenic E-Tech Electric. As you might expect he still appreciates a good ICE car too – a Golf GTi the household’s second car.
