Mark Millar is a battery storage expert and the CEO & Founder of Puredrive Energy, an authorised Duracell Licensee. Mark launched Puredrive Energy in 2016 with the mission to deliver the highest-performing home storage batteries to the domestic market, helping consumers reduce energy costs and lower their carbon footprint.

Under Mark’s leadership, Puredrive has achieved rapid growth over the past years within the UK and overseas, with an annual growth rate of £32 million between 2020 and June 2023. The business has grown to a team of over 70 staff members, designing and manufacturing battery systems in the UK, South Africa, and Benelux.   

The company has established itself as a market leader known for top-quality and high-performance battery systems. In 2022 Puredrive’s home battery storage system was runner-up in the most innovative product category at the Solar & Storage Awards 2022.

Mark is a Chartered Engineer with an MBA and brings over 30 years of leadership experience from world-class multinational manufacturing and renewable organisations. His career highlights include holding senior roles with US-based Hollingsworth & Vose (H&V) Company, serving as Director of Global Technology where he managed technical teams across three continents to develop new innovative and high-performing batteries.

Whilst at H&V, Mark also led a project to establish the companies first operational plant in China that supplied tier 1 fibre-based products to the local market.

After returning to the UK, Mark took on the role of Managing Director at Reiss Energy Management Ltd, a company he also founded, and provides engineering scientific consulting services and consulted with UK Trading Standards. Notably, Mark is one of only two recognised battery system experts in the UK.

Driven by a passion to transform the UK energy market, Mark co-founded Puredrive Energy to empower homeowners to take control of their energy use and move toward grid independence. His leadership led Puredrive to secure the license to manufacture and distribute Duracell-branded energy storage and solar solutions.

Today, Mark is focused on growing the Duracell Energy brand, positioning it as the go-to provider for domestic and small commercial energy solutions in the UK. With his extensive industry experience and a clear vision for the future, Mark is committed to making sustainable energy accessible for everyone.
