Julian Fletcher spent over 20 years at Rolls-Royce developing gas turbine engines before moving to the rail industry, where he has been working for Great Western Railways on battery powered trains:

He has a breadth of experience covering environmental impact assessment, feasibility of alternative traction and most recently, real world implementation of fast charge battery systems. He is leading the battery train test programme, spearheading the Great Western Railway traction decarbonisation strategy.

He takes decarbonisation seriously, bringing about change at home as well is in working life.
