Ben Westerman is Director of Policy and Advocacy at Electrify Britain, working closely with the CEO to lead the organisation. Prior to joining, he was Director of Energy and Industrial Policy at Public First, where he worked with a range of organisations across energy, low-carbon investment, and industrial strategy. He was previously Head of Policy and latterly Executive Director of the Aldersgate Group, Head of Energy and Climate Policy at the British Chambers of Commerce, and has worked in several advisory roles for the Labour Party in Westminster. He has sat on the government’s Green Technical Advisory Group, Green Jobs Delivery Group, and Transition Plans Taskforce, held advisory roles with Green Alliance and the Parliamentary Renewable and Sustainable Energy Group, and was a Fellow at the Centre for the Understanding of Sustainable Prosperity
