Principal Consultant, Urban Foresight
Aurelie is a consultant with over 15 years of experience in international trade and agricultural development. She’s advised governments, Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO), think tanks, and businesses on trade policy as well as food security and livelihoods programme strategy across the EU, Africa and the Middle East. Following trade roles as analyst to the Government of the Seychelles, US Aid for International Development (USAID) in Botswana, and a think tank in the Netherlands, Aurelie joined the Fairtrade Foundation in London as a Trade Policy Advisor, advising on key trade partnerships in collaboration with smallholder farmers in Africa and the Caribbean. In 2015 Aurelie transitioned into consulting and has advised the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Jordan, UK Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), German Development Cooperation (GIZ), European Commission and the Trade Justice Movement in both team leader and technical trade roles. She is dedicated to making a positive and long-lasting impact on communities, with a specific focus for agricultural trade, urban and rural food security, climate change and sustainability. Aurelie holds an MSc in Agricultural Development Economics from the University of Reading and a BA (hons) in Economics and Politics from the University of Durham.
